November’s Readers Rides: Paul and Debz

Paul

This is a correction from our printed November issue.

Our sincerest apologies to Paul.

At 7yrs old, Paul’s family moved to Sundridge Ontario.  The neighbours kids next door had come over to say hello and they brought along with them their Honda Z50’s.  Seeing the Hondas,  Paul knew this was something he wanted to try out.  Also, down the street,  a friendly older couple had this moped.  Getting to know them well, they allowed Paul to ride the moped pretty much whenever he felt he need.

Getting older, Paul’s Dad got him his own Yamaha Scooter for achieving good grades one year. That’s when it all really started;  Paul’s love for two wheels, eventually moving on up to a Honda XL100 then onto a Honda V30 Magna.

Having had multiple bikes through out his many riding years, today riding a 2004 Suzuki DR650 and a 2005 GSXR 600, Paul says “dirt riding was always my thing” . To keep in shape for his dirt riding, Paul  participates in kick boxing in order take on the Ganaraska Forest.

Debz

Age: 51

I have been riding for 7 seasons now, with my first bike being a 250 Virago. Soon after I moved up to a 650 Savage. A couple of summers pass till I had my eye on an 883 Harley Sportster. The moment I began to ride my 883 I felt this is the bike for me.

My favorite place to go is north, where there is no traffic, just the open road.  We all have a riding angel, mine has saved me from a few hazards of the asphalt. I always say ‘I’d rather spend a Sunday riding on my motorcycle thinking of the higher power, than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.’

Riding is a social lifestyle I can’t see myself without. The great people you meet, the great places you adventure out to, and the same passion we all share. Working in the motorcycle industry has allowed me to appreciate it even more.
